Landscape Design-Build Narrative

This Contemporary Garden Home in North Dallas was completed in collaboration with Sharif Munir Homes, where the architecture and landscape were conceived as one unified composition. Our landscape design-build approach focused on extending the architectural language of the home into the surrounding gardens using disciplined geometry, premium materials, and refined horticultural detailing.

The landscape was intentionally organized to create a clean, contemporary aesthetic with exceptional long-term performance and low maintenance. Every landscape element was carefully positioned to reinforce the home's strong architectural lines while providing welcoming outdoor living spaces that mature gracefully over time.

Construction materials were selected to smoothly continue the vocabulary established by the residence. Patterned concrete driveways and walkways with large-format stone texture and precision-cut control joints establish a sophisticated arrival sequence. Highly milled natural stone walls, seat walls, and oversized architectural planters provide crisp detailing and reinforce the home's contemporary character.

Large hero-size planters anchor important visual destinations throughout the landscape while curated nursery-grown Live Oaks establish symmetry and scale. Elderica Pines create texture and evergreen backdrop screening, while specimen Japanese Maple dissectum and dramatic Whale Tongue Agaves provide sculptural focal points.

A restrained planting palette of low-profile evergreen shrubs, layered perennial massings, and seasonal color within both planters and garden beds softens the architecture without overwhelming it. Carefully selected ornamental grasses and flowering perennials introduce seasonal interest while maintaining the disciplined composition that defines the property.

From concept through landscape installation, Original Landscape Concepts completed the grading, drainage, irrigation, premium hardscape installation, planting, and landscape detailing to create a timeless contemporary garden that complements the exceptional craftsmanship of Sharif Munir Homes while providing an elegant, highly functional, and enduring outdoor environment.
