Project Narrative

Designed for another distinguished Sharif Munir residence in Preston Hollow, this luxury courtyard landscape was envisioned as a sophisticated outdoor living environment where architecture, water, and landscape become a smooth extension of the home. The design establishes a spacious upper terrace dedicated to recreation and entertaining while preserving visual connection to the expansive children's play lawn below.

A restrained palette of bone-colored travertine, natural coursed limestone walls, and Lueders stone caps creates timeless elegance while allowing the surrounding architecture to remain the focal point. The swimming pool features a dramatic deep-black interior finish that transforms the water into a reflective surface, capturing changing skies and creating remarkable visual depth throughout the day.

The elevated all-tile spa was conceived as a sculptural centerpiece. Finished with a continuous 360-degree cleaved-edge overflow, the spa appears to float effortlessly above the courtyard while contributing soothing movement and sound. Opposite the spa, a raised Lueders stone feature wall incorporates three precision shear-descent scuppers, framing the garden and reinforcing the clean contemporary geometry of the space.

Oversized architectural lanterns were carefully positioned to establish rhythm and scale while extending the garden's atmosphere into the evening. Adjacent to the pool, the covered lanai serves as an outdoor culinary and entertainment pavilion, allowing dining, conversation, and poolside relaxation to function as one connected experience.

Plant selections were intentionally restrained and highly architectural. Layered masses of evergreen structure, sculptural specimen plants, and refined textural combinations soften the hardscape without competing with it, ensuring each plant contributes form, seasonal interest, and long-term compositional balance.

This Preston Hollow estate reflects Original Landscape Concepts' philosophy of creating luxury outdoor environments that balance architecture, horticulture, and craftsmanship. From concept through construction, each detail was composed to deliver an elegant, resort-inspired landscape for sophisticated estate living throughout Dallas and North Texas.
